Is responsible for the coordination of investment research, due diligence, deal-structuring and monitoring of portfolio companies.  In addition, he is a member of investment committees of the various Discovery Americas Funds.

Mr. Mendoza served as acting Co-CEO for the Volaris at the initial stages of the company. Prior to joining Discovery Americas, he was a Co-Founder and a Partner of Cuantica (a private equity and financial advisory firm), head of Investment Banking and Private Equity at Multivalores Financial Group and CEO of Interacciones Bank.

He also served as the Chief of Staff for the Minister of Communications and Transport, General Director of Public Credit at the Ministry of Finance, and occupied a variety of positions at Nacional Financiera (NAFIN), including Deputy General Director, Chief Financial Officer, Head of Trading, Director of Investment Banking and Head of Investments, where he managed a portfolio of above $10 billion and the Small Cap Private Equity Fund.

Mr. Mendoza has served in the Boards of multiple companies, including Umbral Capital, Volaris, Iké Asistencia, Fondo de Transporte México, Soluciones e Inversiones en Salud Integral, AMCO, LIPU, Médica Sur, Grupo Desc, Aeroméxico, Mexicana, Minera Autlán, Petróleos Mexicanos International, BANOBRAS, BANCOMEXT, NAFIN and Aeropuertos y Servicios Auxiliares (ASA).

He also served on the Board of Governors of the Banking and Securities Commission, the Insurance Commission, and the former Securities Commission. Mr. Mendoza has also been a Professor of Corporate Finance and International Finance at Universidad Anáhuac, and a Professor of Financial Derivatives at the Mexican Stock Exchange Institute. Mr. Mendoza holds an MBA from Stanford University and graduated with honors as Actuary from Universidad Anáhuac.
